The Captain Easy is a 34' Custom Sport fisherman fully equipped for your fishing enjoyment. It has been custom designed for charter fishing with maximum fishing space and your comfort in mind. We specialize in offshore sport fishing for such species as sailfish, dolphin (mahi-mahi), tuna, wahoo, marlin, kingfish, amberjack, snapper and grouper as well as evening trips for tarpon and shark. The Captain Easy is equipped with all the latest safety and fish finding equipment including: GPS/plotter, color fish finder, loran and VHF radio equipment. Our tackle is meticulously maintained and consists of new Penn and Daiwa reels, custom built rods, fresh line and leaders, and the sharpest hooks available. We provide Everything you need for a comfortable day of fishing except your food and drinks. The Captain Easy can accommodate up to 6 anglers and everyone is welcome from the most experienced angler to the first time fisherman. The Captain Easy can be booked for 1/2, 3/4, full-day and evening trips. The Captain My name is Captain Bruce Andersen and I invite you to come fishing with me and my mate aboard the Captain Easy. I am originally from Long Island, NY and I grew up fishing the waters off the south shore of Long Island. I got my first job as a mate on a charter boat at the age of 14, fell in love with charter fishing and decided right away that this was what I wanted to do. The only thing I enjoy more than fishing is taking others out for a great day and seeing their excitement while they are hooked up to the fish of their dreams. I moved to Islamorada over 15 years ago after getting my captain's license and have been charter fishing my whole life. My crew and I are always ready to give 100% on every trip. We take pride in friendly service and families are always welcome. If you are not an experienced fisherman this is not a problem, my mate and I will be happy to teach you everything you need to know for a day's fishing. We work hard at the fishing, but even harder to ensure that you have an enjoyable time. Your Fishing Day We're available for 1/2, 3/4 and Full day fishing that goes on year round. In the wintertime, we specialize in live bait fishing for sailfish. The sailfishing in Islamorada is excellent from November to March and peaks in January and February. During this time you can also expect to catch kingfish, blackfin tuna, wahoo and some dolphin. March and April bring larger blackfins and amberjack to the world famous Islamorada "Hump". As summer approaches, the dolphin (mahi-mahi) fishing becomes spectacular here in the Florida Keys. Dolphin fishing peaks in May and June but remains excellent into the fall. During the summer, we also catch tuna, wahoo, tripletail, permit, and the occasional blue Marlin. We also catch bottom fish such as various snapper and grouper year round on our local wrecks and reefs which are only 3 miles offshore. We generally use light spinning tackle to catch most of our fish but occasionally use heavier stand up tackle when necessary. Any fish that are not released on the Captain Easy are yours to keep and at the end of the day we will clean, fillet and package your catch. Evening Tarpon and Shark Trips Starting in March and going through September, we do evening trips for tarpon and sharks. These are some the Captain Bruce's favorite trips and can be non-stop fun! Evening trips last 3 - 3 1/2 hours and are almost all fishing time - barely any running. We generally leave at 5pm and return around 8pm. We catch several different kinds of sharks on these trips including black-tip, spinner, bull, lemon, nurse, sandbar and hammerhead sharks. We also catch Barracuda and of course our favorite: The Tarpon. Tarpon fishing peaks May through July. These are great trips for everyone from the beginner to the salty angler. The tarpon and shark fishing is conducted in calm waters and these make great trips for the whole family. Extreme Offshore Trips These trips are geared specially for very serious fisherman or people who just want a very long trip with extra time for catching more fish. All of our trips are serious fishing trips ,but the extreme offshore trips are extra long (12 hours) and give us more time to go further, try different kinds of fishing in the same day, and catch both the early morning and late afternoon bites. We leave at 6am and return after 6pm working all day to load the fish box CHARTER PRICES FOR The Captain Easy Full day (7am-3:30pm) $900 3/4 day (7am-1:30pm) $800 1/2 day (7am-11:30am) $700 12-hour Extreme Offshore (6am-6pm) $1200 Evening Tarpon + Shark (5pm-8pm) $400 These prices are for the whole boat, you can bring up to six passengers and everything you'll need is included. The only things you need to bring are your own food and drinks, some sunscreen, sunglasses and a jacket in the winter or light clothing in the summer. Trip times are approximate and can be adjusted to fit your schedule.
